The papers include biographical and genealogical material, general correspondence, Northwestern University material, honorary awards and degrees, children's theater, creative dramatics material, books and pamphlet material, workshops and lectures correspondence, conferences and conventions, speeches and articles, and trips and tours material. The children's theater materials include two histories of the Children's Theater of Evanston, one by Winifred Ward and one as a master's thesis by Kenneth Hosie, 1972; handwritten production notes by Miss Ward, promotional material, newspaper and magazine clippings, letters from children to Miss Ward, and Children's Theater of Evanston play scripts, annotated and with stage directions written in by Miss Ward.
