Materials relating to "Ballet mecanique," 1925-1971.

In 1924 Antheil composed "Ballet mecanique" as a sound track for Fernand Leger's film of the same title. This version was prepared on three piano rolls for a concert the following year. Collection also contains copies of the music on 2 sound cassette tapes, 3 reel-to-reel tapes for a broadcast on KPFK, Los Angeles (1970 Nov.) and accompanying printed and photographic documentation, with correspondence between Allen Tanner and Philip Kaplan, 1971 Nov.-Dec.
