Primarily business correspondence to and from Robinson, in his role as a San Francisco merchant and as agent for the firm Howland? letters from Howland? and other business correspondence from various individuals and companies (1848-1849). Also includes miscellaneous papers concerning Howland? documents pertaining to voyages of two brigs: the Belfast, which journeyed from Panama to San Francisco, Feb.-May 1849, and the Cayuga, apparently a river barge that carried gold miners and supplies from San Francisco to Sacramento; a list of goods with their Mexican tariffs (1847); personal letters from John C. Jones, a friend in Mass. (1852-1859); and a few personal papers, including a passport (1839), a passbook for an account with Chemical Bank (1852), and a letter (1837) to JoseĢ de la Guerra.
