Contains items addressing folkways and folklore from nearly every part of the world. Approximately one third of the collection is serials and includes titles and runs of material from: "Abstracts of Folklore Studies," (1963-1973); "Journal of the Folklore Institute," (1964-1975); "Journal of American Folklore," (1948-1986); "California Folklore Quarterly "and successors" Western Folklore Quarterly" and "Western Folklore" (1942-1986); "Arizona Quarterly," (1945-1976); "Journal of Popular Culture," (1967-1976); "American Quarterly," (1959-1979); "FF Communications," v.B-51; "Revue de Folklore Francais," (1930-1936); "Lares," (1912-1935) (incomplete); "Revistas de Ethnografia" v. 13-32; "Folkminnen och Folktankar," (1926-1941); and dozens of imcomplete or spotty runs of American and European journals, digests, and newsletters. Bound volumes, approximately two-thirds of the collection, represent a sampling of research worldwide in anthropology, sociology, material culture, ethnography and folklore. No specific topics outside of the emphasis on the human social experience may be traced.
