Records concerning coal mining in Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory. Chiefly periodic coal mine inspection reports, which include data such as the name and location of mines; names of owners or operators; number of employees; tonnage produced; efficiency of machinery, especially ventilating equipment; and number and accessibility of exits. Accident reports prepared by mine inspectors are frequently accompanied by completed accident report forms submitted by mine superintendents, and drawings and plats showing accident sites.
