A transcript of John Jennings Ballentine's oral history interviews with John T. Mason, Jr. Ballentine discusses his childhood and education, his naval interests, military testing and developmental work, the Norden bombsight, Japanese naval aviation, Operation Torch, his command of the U.S.S. Bunker Hill, Pacific operations and Japanese surrender, the U.N. Military Staff Committee, the post-war Mediterranean, and his command of the Sixth Fleet. Ballentine also comments on several naval and military colleagues. Forms part of Columbia University Oral History Collection (Part One).
