The Records Manangement Division of the Alabama Department of Archives and History administers and coordinates the functions and activities associated with public records management at both the state and local levels. (Division Mission Statement, 1989). This series consists of lists of series destroyed by the department for the fiscal years 1968-1982. Information available from these records includes the name of the series destroyed, the name of the department and division, the dates, the volume of the records, and the date the records were destroyed. A report at the beginning of the register explains its purpose.
