District land office Receivers were responsible for all financial transactions relating to the sale of public lands and received fees for performing various duties. This volume provides a detailed account of fees received for reducing testimony to writing, examining and approving testimony, making transcripts of records, drawing plats and diagrams, and for allowing entries under the Timber Land Act of 1878 June 3. The Receiver made a separate entry for each fee transaction. Each entry includes the date, name of customer, what provision of the law governed the transaction, the number of the transaction, the kind of transaction (cash, final homestead, making plat, timber and oil land applications), the number of words, the rate per 100 words and amount of fees. The printed forms provide a space for recapitulation at the bottom of each page to keep account of the types of fees and amounts collected for each. These records document the business aspects of public land sales and the work of the Receiver of Public Monies.
