This series contains correspondence, memoranda, minutes of meetings, photographs, maps, reports, and publications. The records were generated by the Deans of the School of Agriculture, the College of Agriculture, and the College of Agriculture Sciences. The series spans the years 1953-1990. Correspondence files comprise the bulk of the series. Major correspondents include Deans H.P. Cooper, Milton D. Farrar, Carl E. Boyd, William H. Wiley, J.H. Jones, and Luther P. Anderson. In 1987 Stephen Chapman succeeded Luther Anderson; the Chapman files, however, are not found in this series. Other files document various activities of the South Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station, the Cooperative Extension Service, and departments within the College. The departments represented include Agricultural Chemical Services, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy and Soils, Animal Science, Dairy Science, Division of Regulatory and Public Service Programs, Entomology and Zoology, Fertilizer Inspection and Analysis, Food Science, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Poultry Science, and Seed Certification.

This collection consists of more than 11,000 positive and negative images produced by the Cooperative Extension Service and South Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station from the 1920s until the 1970s.
