Robert Nugent (1702-1788), 1st Earl of Nugent. British politician and poet. In 1737 he married Anne Craggs Newsham Knight, daughter of James Craggs (1657-1721) and widow of John Knight (d. 1733) of Gosfield Hall in Essex, a prominent member of Parliament with considerable interest in the colonial trade.
