Consists of journals (22 v.), correspondence, and case notes. Journals contain daily accounts of Robinson's expenses and activities, and include case notes of immigrants and resident aliens, mainly Chinese and Mexican, documenting names, nationalities, and immigration numbers assigned, as well as physical descriptions. In some cases, the location of the arrest and subsequent deportation is included.
