Born in Worms on November 12, 1873, Siegfried Guggenheim was a lawyer, and chairman of the Jewish community of Offenbach from 1933 to 1938. He emigrated to the United States in 1939 and died in New York City on January 30, 1961. Born in 1892 in Ungarisch Brod, Moravia (now Slovakia), Leo Jung was raised in Moravia and in London, where his father, Rabbi Meir Zvi Jung, led London's Federation of Synagogues. Leo Jung received his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi David Hoffman at the Berlin Hildesheimer Seminary and his Ph.D. from London University.
