Records reflects activities of the Police Department in responding to events in the city including Harlem racial disorders in 1964, a papal visit in 1965, race-related incidents in the summer of 1966, and an anti-draft demonstration at Whitehall St. in 1967. Also contains material on labor relations from 21 major city police departments, maps of terriorial jurisdiction by precinct and division, records from a Police Department Committee to study the report of the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice (1967), material on the 20th precinct, an experimental model precinct (1966-1967), and material on the Watts riot of 1965.
