Photograph collection of almost 400 images, chiefly 8 x 10 in format, most of which are views of New Brunswick, New Jersey, and surrounding areas. Most of the images were exposed by Van Derveer, but some are copies made by him from earlier photographs (at least one, and perhaps all, by David Clark). Present are 388 contact prints, of which 374 are 8 x 10 in size. Also included in the 8 x 10 format are 207 gelatin dry plate negatives, about 168 sheet film negatives (of which 43 are nitrate) and over 50 duplicate negatives. Smaller format negatives number about 17 items (both gelatin dry plates and sheet film), including three duplicate negatives.
