Twenty letters (1898-1899) from Mann, a St. Paul (Minn.) physician studying medicine in Europe, to his father, Horatio E., describing his ocean voyage and the daily life and culture of Italy, Austria, and Germany. Also included are Mann's lecture notes on diseases of the lungs, nose, throat, and heart; reports (ca. 1909-1911) on the controversy over the abolition of the University of Minnesota's College of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery during Mann's tenure as Dean; and genealogical and family data.
