Manuscript sermons (undated), correspondence, and biographical data on the family of Smith, a Methodist minister and chaplain of the Minnesota Soldiers' Home, including teaching certificates (1859, 1868-1869) issued to Eva Bell, Smith's wife; and a diary kept by Lemuel Bowers (relationship to Smith family unknown) while on a trip to California (1850-1852), noting topography, weather, flowers, and daily mileage.
