Historical miscellany, 1818-1960.

The records consist of a collection of miscellaneous historical material apparently assembled for the purposes of preparing a company history. They include copies of the charter and bylaws, employee-orientation booklets and manuals on company benefits, trade catalogs and price sheets. There is a small body of correspondence from the World War I period and specimens of bills and other old company documents, as well as newsclippings and tear sheets. Some of the material documents Schieffelin's connection with the early Pennsylvania petroleum industry, and the town of Tombstone, Arizona, founded by prospector Ed Schieffelin. There is also a pamphlet history of the Drug and Chemical Club of New York.
