Routine financial records, 1925-1936.

The Office of State Treasurer is responsible for the custody of all state funds and funds deposited with the state, and for payment of the state debt. (Ala. Government Manual [1982]). This series contains mainly a variety of worksheets prepared by the state treasurer's office detailing financial transactions and information. These worksheets included, but are not limited to, statements of assessments, gross receipts, coal and iron ore tonnage taxes collected by the state, and public utility assessments. Also included are drafts of annual reports, and lists of foreign companies doing business in Alabama.
