This series consists of correspondence, reports, publications, photographs, and other materials relating to volunteerism and other activities overseen by the governor's Constituent Affairs Office. Much of the material was maintained by the Office on Voluntary Citizen Participation which is known as the Governor's Office on Volunteerism. These records were created during the gubernatorial administrations of Governors Fob James (1979-1983), George C. Wallace (1983-1987), and Guy Hunt (1987-1993). Subjects discussed include aging, AIDS, civil rights, literacy, victims of crime, economic and social conditions, and mental health.
