This collection contains letters to editor John Cook Wyllie from publishing firms, chiefly concerning review copies, including: Jean Ennis of Random House, Maureen McManus of Henry Holt, and Carolyn Wolf of Farrar, Straus, & Young. Reviewers and/or correspondents include: Fitzgerald Bemis, Robert L. Bidwell, Alice Brandenburg, Margaret Haley Carpenter, James H. Croushore, Walter Harding, Harry M. Meacham, Macfarland Shackelford, and Nedra Tyre. The bulk of the collection is from James Jackson Kilpatrick, editor of the News Leader, and Ann Lloyd Merriman, art editor, dealing with Wyllie's column. Also included are some of Wyllie's reviews for The Saturday Review.
