Interview conducted by Jessie L. Embry as part of the LDS German-Speaking Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western studies at Brigham Young University. Schmidt was born and raised in Beslau, Germany. He tells about growing up in Germany and about comeing to the United States in the 1920s. Schmidt also tells about atteding the German-speaking Logan 10th Ward of the Mormon Church.
