[1] 1843, May 6, to Henry Ledyard [1 l. with conjugate leaf].--Letter of introduction for James H. Behan of Norfolk, Va., who has been recommended to the President. [2] 1847, November 18, to Mr. Gardiner [1 l. with conjugate blank leaf].--Asks him to call. Webster wishes to clarify an idea before Gardiner confers with his clients. [3] 1851, June 3, to Peter Harvey [Boston?] [2 p.].--What has been done in Boston is right. His views coincide with those set forth in the Courier. Massachusetts may lose her national leadership by putting local interests first. The danger of courting the Abolitionists is that they may become the masters. [4] [18--], December 4, to Mr. Parker [1 l].--Is unable to go out or to send money today. Will send check for $250 payable the 10th.
