Correspondence of Governor Freeman and his staff with Gerald W. Heaney of Duluth, the Minnesota committeeman on the Democratic National Committee. Although he was not formally a part of the Freeman administration, many of Heaney's letters contain advice regarding appointments to boards and commissions, scheduling arrangements for the Governor's appearances (particularly in northeast Minnesota), and opinions regarding labor and educational issues in the Eighth Congressional District (Duluth and the Iron Range).
