Business papers and account books (daybooks and ledgers) relating to plantation affairs, Pintard's store, Mississippi River transportation, and commercial matters prior to and during the War of 1812, including the American Embargo and the British blockade. Samuel Phillips of (New Orleans?) is a primary correspondent. Phillips discusses, among other topics, a yellow fever epidemic in New Orleans, shipping difficulties caused by the embargo, and the presence of British gun boats at Manchac. Also included are papers relative to the disposition of Pintard's estate and items associated with Pintard's overseer, Hugh McDaniel.
