Deeds are conveyances which transfer title of property from one party to another. The deed gives date of instrument, names of grantor (seller) and grantee (purchaser), location of property, amount paid for the property, grantor's notarized signature, certification of county clerk, and date recorded.

Larue County, the ninety-eighth county formed in Kentucky, was created in 1843 from part of Hardin County and named for John Larue. Hodgenville is the county seat. The courthouse burned in 1865.
