A collection of treaties in Latin & French signed at Seville, Madrid and Vienna from MDCCXXI to MDCCXXXI : With some papers relating to the boundaries of Florida and Carolina etc. in the West Indies, MDCCXXXIX.

Bound manuscript volume of treaties and related materials concerning peace between Great Britain and France and Spain, assembled in 1739 when Prime Minister Robert Walpole was attempting to conclude a treaty with Spain. These documents include mention of colonies in America, particularly the founding of Georgia by James Edward Oglethorpe in 1732. The treaties, copies probably made in 1739, include a defensive alliance between Britain, France, and Spain signed in Madrid, 1721; preliminary articles signed in Paris, 1727; the Dutch accession to the Treaty of Seville, including secret articles, 1729; and the Treaty of Vienna, 1731. These are accompanied by copies of British documents, all dated 1739: letters of instructions from the King and from the Duke of Newcastle to British plenipotentiaries at Madrid; Observations relative to the boundaries of Florida and Carolina; project of a Treaty with Spain sent to the plenipotentiaries, May 8 1739; and Observations on trade and navigation of the West Indies.
