Lafayette's tour in Alabama, 1825, newspaper clippings, 1911.

"Lafayette's tour in Alabama," 1911, describes the tour and the author's use of the Pickens family papers to write her series of articles. She used the family letters to trace Lafayette's 1825 trip through Alabama. She also discusses the extent and provenance of the Pickens family papers then held by Mr. James Pickens in Hale County, Ala. They are now in the private records collections of the Alabama Dept. of Archives and History.
