John W. McTighe papers, 1845-2005.

John W. McTighe gathered the materials in this collection while completing his dissertation, Economic Development and Social Diversity: The Origin and Composition of a Systematic Growth Regime in Louisville, Kentucky, 1897-1933. This collection contains copies of newspaper, journal, and magazine articles along with excerpts from theses and dissertations related to Louisville history and economic concerns. The papers also include copies of city directories, membership registers for Louisville clubs, and McTighe's own list of Louisville elites. In addition, a manuscript copy of McTighe's thesis for the University of Louisville Department of Sociology and his miscellaneous research notes are contained in the collection.
