Elizabeth Bonduel McCourt Doe Tabor was born Elizabeth Nellis McCourt to Peter McCourt and Elizabeth Nellis in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in 1854. She married Harvey Doe, Jr. on June 27, 1877. Harvey's father had a half interest in a mine in Central City, Colorado, and the couple moved there hoping to make a living. While working in the mine, Elizabeth Tabor earned the nickname "Baby Doe" from the miners. In 1879, she became involved with H.A.W. Tabor and moved to Leadville, divorcing Harvey Doe in 188...

Caroline Bancroft was born to a prominent Denver, Colo. pioneer family in 1900. During her lifetime, she was a socially connected bon vivant, journalist, prolific author and defacto historian whose Colo. history pamphlets helped popularize the state during the later half of the 20th century.
