Diaries and scrapbooks of Robert Livermore, student at the Boston Public Latin School, sailor aboard the ship Enterprise of the Mass. Nautical Training School (later the Mass. Maritime Academy), graduate of Harvard (1900) and MIT (1903), mining engineer, businessman, and hunting enthusiast. Also included are sketchbooks, a photograph album, and memoirs by Livermore and Martin Wenger. Livermore traveled throughout the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Baja, Calif., surveying mining sites, and worked at many mines including the Camp Bird Mine in Ouray, Colo.; the Smuggler Union Mine in Telluride, Colo., where brother-in-law Bulkeley Wells was manager; and the Kerr Lake Mine in Cobalt, Ontario. He served as Deputy Sheriff in the great strike by the Western Federation of Miners in Telluride as well. (Con't) Livermore was also involved with the mining and export companies of Goodrich, Lockhart Co.; Hecla Copper & Mining Co.; Livermore, Dearborn, & Co.; and American Mines Inc. In World War I, he joined the U.S. Engineers, serving at Forts Lee and Humphries, Va.

Robert Livermore (1876-1959) was a mining engineer and executive. He was educated at Harvard (1900) and MIT (1903).
