Copies of letters of U.S. Commissioner to negotiate peace, from Passy, France: First (11/26/1782) to British commissioner, argues against compensating Loyalist who had lost property; second (1/14/1783) probably to British negotiator, suggests treaty prohibit in war "the Plundering of unarmed and usefully employed People." Also 6 printed copies of Franklin's signature.
