[Letter] 1769 March 27 New York to Ensign Huthins.

Gage denies request to promote Huthins to vacant lieutenancy in the 18th Regiment, but promises to aid him in securing post elsewhere. Suggests Huthins leave the money necessary to purchase the post, 150 pounds sterling, with someone in New York so that the money is available when a post becomes vacant. Gage tells of general living conditions of the regiment.
