Hamilton Hawkins Howze (b. Dec. 21, 1908, White Plains, New York), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from West Point in 1930. During World War II, he served as assistant chief of staff for operations, 1st Armored Division, in England and North Africa; commander of battalion and regiment, 13th Armored Regiment (1943-1944); and commander, Combat Command A, 1st Armored Division, in Italy.
