Photocopies of legal documents pertaining to litigation initiated Arthur B. Robinson, an employee and co-founder of the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine, against Linus Pauling, the Institute, and several members of the Board of Trustees for, among other charges, wrongful firing, slander, and seizure of Robinson's research and equipment. The case was settled before it was to have been heard in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Mateo.

Arthur Robinson was an undergraduate at Cal Tech when Linus Pauling was on the Cal Tech faculty. Robinson subsequently earned a Ph. D. in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and eventually took a position in the chemistry department at UCSD.
