Russell Rowland Miller (b. May 12, 1937) graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1960 and received a MBA from Columbia University in 1962. In 1970, he ran unsuccessfully as Democratic candidate for the 6th Congressional District seat, California. In 1971, he founded Russell Miller, Inc., a specialty investment banking firm for the insurance industry, and served as its Chairman until 2000.
