Author Robert Nathan was born in New York City and educated in New York, Switzerland, the Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, and Harvard. He worked in advertising and education before earning a living as an author; he has written poetry, essays, and drama, but is chiefly known for popular novels.
