Biography / Administrative History Arthur P. Jacobs was born in Los Angeles in 1922 and attended the University of Southern California, beginning his motion picture career as a messenger at MGM. He became a publicist at that studio, at Warner Brothers and then as the head of his own firm. In the mid-1960s Jacobs launched a successful career as an independent producer.
