Jesse Hilton Stuart, author of short stories, novels, and poetry, was born August 8, 1906, in W-Hollow, Kentucky. He received a B.A. from Lincoln Memorial University. His works include: Best-loved Short Stories of Jesse Stuart, Clearing in the Sky & other Stories, The Kingdom Within: a Spiritual Autobiography, Men of the Mountains, The World of Jesse Stuart: Selected Poems, among others.
