William W. Wurster founded the Environmental Design Archives (then the Architectural Archives) in 1953 as a teaching collection, following the recommendation of eminent architectural historian Henry Russell Hitchcock. Biographical Note Casey A. Kawamoto was born in Selma, California in 1919. He attended Monterey High School and received an A.A. degree from Hartnell College.
