Rice Fruit Drying establishment in Los Gatos and theSorosis Fruit farm in Saratoga, as well as several photographs depictingturn-of-the-century life in Los Gatos.

Biographical Note Fred Warren Crandall was born to George Washington Crandall and Emily (Chaffee) Crandall on July 28, 1858 in Herrick, Pennsylvania. One of five children, Fred was raised a farmer’s son; however, from an early age, he aspired to join the clergy, and in the mid-1870s traveled to Irvington, California to study theology.
