The Battledore Press was the personal press of Mary and Andrew (Andy) Horn. Mary and Andrew printed their first piece on September 8, 1961 (see box 6, folder 3 for the handwritten note about this item). Andrew oversaw the creation of the library school at UCLA in 1959/1960 in addition to being a professor and dean of the school; he also supervised the Horn Press to allow library students the opportunity to print.
