The Dickens Fellowship was founded on October 6, 1902. The organization's purpose continues to be to create a common bond of friendship between admirers of English novelist Charles Dickens (1812-70) and to preserve properties associated with Dickens and his works. The collection consists of letters pertaining to Charles Dickens written to J.W.T. Ley, secretary and later vice-president of the Dickens Fellowship, London, from various persons writing in response to information requested by Ley for his book, (1918). The Dickens Circle
