Mark Dayton was born in Minneapolis on January 26, 1947, attended high school in Hopkins, and graduated cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in psychology in 1969. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. After graduating from Yale, Dayton spent two years teaching general science in the New York City school system (1969-1971) and four years in Boston (1971-1975) as a counselor for runaway youths and chief financial officer for a social service agency....
