The lifelong friendship between Blair Clark and Robert Lowell began in the 1930s when both were students at St. Mark's Episcopal boarding school in Southborough, Massachusetts, and continued at Harvard. While at Harvard, Clark edited the Harvard Crimson, a harbinger of his career in journalism.
