George Bruce Halsted(1853-1922) was a mathematician who explored foundations of geometry andintroduced Non-Euclidean geometry into the United States through his own workand his many important translations. This collection consists ofcorrespondence, ephemera, printed material, photographs, and publicationsdocumenting his life and work.

George Bruce Halsted (1853-1922) received his Bachelor's (1875) and Master's (1878) degrees from Princeton and his Ph.D. from John's Hopkins (1879). Following graduation, Halsted taught mathematics at Princeton until beginning his post at the University of Texas at Austin in 1884.
