Records of Hans Peter Nielsen Gammel (1854-1931), bookseller, publisher, and collector. Established in Austin, Texas, in 1878, Gammel's ten-cent store became one of the first book stores west of the Mississippi River and carried, at its peak, the largest assortment of miscellaneous literature, law books, and Texana in the state.
