Joyce Gibson Roach, teacher, folklorist, author, was born in Cleburne, Texas in 1935. She grew up in Jacksboro, graduating from Jacksboro High School in 1954. Roach holds bachelors and masters degrees from Texas Christian University and did post-graduate work at the University of North Texas. Roach taught in Fort Worth and Keller ISDs, and has been an adjunct faculty member at TCU.
