Marjorie Dakin was born December 5, 1911 in Gloucester, England to Ernest Edward Lane Dakin and Lilian Clayton. Dakin’s family immigrated to the United States in 1920, arriving in New York with a final destination of California. An active member of the Christian Science community, Marjorie Dakin met Arthur Corey briefly in 1947 or 1948. They were reacquainted later and became correspondents.
