Vi Fogle Uretz was a University of Chicago alumna, wife of faculty member Robert B. Uretz, and an active member of the Hyde Park community. She was involved in many community organizations, including the radio station WFMT, the Hyde Park Historical Society, the 57th Street Art Fair, and the Cleaner Air Committee.
