Alonzo Brown Noyes was born October 4, 1813 in Essex, Massachusetts to Thomas and Mary Brown Noyes. For the years prior to and during the start of the American Civil War, he served as a Customs Collector and the Superintendent of Lights at St. Mark's, Florida.
